Welcome to the West City Fall Festival and Fish Fry!

The West City Fall Festival and Fish Fry is set to take place Saturday October 26, 2013 at the West City Park  and Community Center. Proceeds of the fish fry are to benefit the Benton/ West City Chamber of Commerce. For more information you can email us by clicking the box below.

Benton/West City Chamber Fish Fry

  The Village of West City and The Benton/West City Chamber of Commerce would like to invite you and your family out to our first ever fish fry. We have partnered with Country Rhodes of Effingham, Illinois for this years event. Their full menu can be found below. Proceeds to benefit the Benton/ West City Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber is a non-for-profit organization dedicated to the improvement of business, education, and the quality of life in our communities.

"Mentors 4 Kids" is a non-profit organization that provides caring volunteer adults as mentors for children who want and need a positive role model in their life. To become a mentor or for more information check out their website:

Fall Festival Lantern Launch 2012

   At the conclusion of the Fall Festival, we will be holding the annual paper lantern launch. There will be a limited number of lanterns sold. Lanterns are just $2.00, and can be purchased at the festival. Proceeds of lantern sales will benefit "Mentors 4 Kids" of Benton, Illinois. The launch is set to take place at the conclusion of the festival at 8:00pm. Below is a video of last years launch.

Harpist Sue Druckenmiller

  The 2013 Lantern Launch will feature the sounds of professional harpist Sue Druckenmiller. Sue and her exquisite burgundy Concert Grand Harp have been entertaining musically for special occasions for nearly 20 years. 

Hay Rides

Throughout the day we will also be having hayrides! Rides will start  at 4:00pm. All riders under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult in order to ride.


Craft's & Vending

We are now accepting applications for crafters and vendors. So whether you knit, sew, bake, or whatever, we would like to have you! Space is limited and will be given on a first come, first serve basis. Booth setup is only $25 and is outdoors. Below is a vendor request form you can print out . We hope to see you there!

Sumo is BACK!!!

Sumo wrestling is back for the 2013 festival! Come out for some sumo fun and be sure and bring your camera! Sumo will run from 1:00p - 5:00p

Doubles Cornhole Tournament

We will be having a "Doubles Cornhole Tournament" for cash prizes. Sign up starts at 12:00pm. The entry cost is $20.00 per team.  Game play is best 2 of 3 games, single elimination. The winning team shall receive 75% of entries raised and the runner up will receive the remaining 25% of entries in the pot.

West City Fire & Rescue

The West City Fire Department will also be in attendance. They will be teaching area youths about the importance of fire safety. Kids will be able to try on a fireman's gear and have their pictures taken. There will be mini hayrides for smaller children, an educational smokehouse, and firetruck rides!

The West City Park and Community Center is located at 201 S. Browning Street in West City, Illinois.

Inflatables For Kids

There will also be inflatables for kids set up at the festival from 10a to 6p and admission is free!

It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

We will begin showing "It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" starting at 7:00pm. Kids will receive goody bags and can also enter our coloring contest which runs from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. We will then pick a winner from each age group for prizes! The age groups are below:
2-3 years    4-6 years    7-10 years

Camera Phone Scavenger Hunt

  This year we're bringing back the cell phone scavenger hunt! Players will be given a list of clues. The players must then solve the clues and take a picture of what they think the clue is about. The player with the most correct answers in the shortest amount of time wins a new black Nintendo wii game console!
